This is one of my favourite projects that I did while I was in college. I did this project as the first assignment for my motion design class. I used photos assigned to the class and everything was based on the art of Monty Python. Vaporwave and 1990s aesthetic implement many concepts that were inspired by vintage and older concepts similar Monty Python, so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to create a combination of those elements.
I experimented on Photoshop with multiple photos from Monty Python as well as other aspects inspired by vaporwave including that neon magenta, palm trees, and dolphins.
Once I was finished with the Photoshopped designed, I imported all of the files into After Effects with separated layers. With the background video, I used a background video of palm trees and reversed the video back and forth for the static television effect. I experimented with the background by putting multiple filters to emulate televisions back in the 1990s. With the head, I decided to add bubbles to create a child-like element to the video.
I had a lot of fun with this project because it helped me explore and learn new ways to create motion animations and to develop my video editing for future projects involving animation and video editing.
