For my Multimedia Design class, we were assigned to do a unique streaming app whether that involves streaming music or videos. I jotting various ideas for innovating and wacky ideas that I can come up with that did not exist during the time. I decided to create an app where you can find music based on how you feel. I jotted down a list of ideas that Moodsic might have including:
Listening to songs based on your moods and emotions
• Searching for songs and videos using speech-to-text
• Downloading songs without having to copy and paste songs on the web. They can download songs within the app and it'll save on the music playlist
• Swipe out to not listen to a song anymore "the app will narrow down your music tastes and it's similar to Tinder"
• Translate songs when lyrics are in a different language "similar to the translation feature on Instagram"
• Being able to slow down and speed a song on the app
• Being able to filter songs based on what words are in the song
• A wifi/bluetooth connection where two or more users can listen to a song at the same time
• Users can reviews on how users like the song
• Users can interact with artists when artists go live on a music app
I noticed that people often experience boredom listening to the same songs repeatedly and want to find to new songs based on what mood and emotions that they are feeling during the time. Planning an algorithm to help people categorize different moods and emotions helps people discover new songs and have songs that they will listen in the long run. The two main features that I wanted to emphasize in the app is 'I feel' and 'I want to'. The 'I feel' is a categorize basic moods and emotions including happiness, sadness, boredom, etc. While the 'I want to' categorize how that person wants to feel. For example, if the person feeling sad, they want to listen to music that will calm them down.
Moodsic Interactive Prototype App
In the digitalize version, I opted with the colours bright blue and white because these colours picked out are modern help people focus since blue and white are colours that people react the most neutrally.

With the rest of the screens, I took inspiration from different music listening platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify to keep similar features of what makes a music listening app. The main part of the app, the mood feature, took inspirations from people talking about their experiences with popular dating apps, which are highly known to swipe left and right when it came to people, but I wanted to use a similar features for people to find the right music to listen to. Like a profile, the mood feature is a filter to cater to a person's moods and emotions, and then shows the user the list of songs they can listen to. If the user does not enjoy the song that they were listening, they can swipe left like how you would on a dating/ friendship app.
