The frog museum came up after I was inspired by the Duck Museum. I wanted to do some 3D shading with 2D characters in order for the illustrations to contrast and complement each other.
The initial idea of this drawing was to have everything look like a renaissance painting consistently through the whole art piece, and then when I was watching The Amazing World of Gumball, I decided to implement some 2D characters to make the piece more dynamic. I also took some of my inspirations from going to art museums for school trips growing up like going to the Art Gallery of Ontario or even going to the Royal Ontario Museum. I applied the elements of people in real life just observing art pieces and analyzing the meanings and what place and time these art pieces have been created.
