I never see many black girls/ women showing their cute and girly side to them. So I decided to create a girl who seems innocent and girly as any other girls who can be cute. As a woman myself, we tend to discard the feminine side to ourselves because we thought that being feminine would fit a whole gender into a mold where we are considered "like other girls". With this illustration, I wanted to highlight that it is okay to express our feminine side regardless of gender we are. And not everyone has to fit into a mold. With the pink butterfly, it is a symbol that you should free to express yourself and you have know how to find your wings.
