I collaborated with human resource students at Humber College to help them for a project. 4U is a multi-purpose business app where you can students feedback to managers. find previous reports, and complete tasks.
I was not familiar with any co-related to human resources, so I had students help me figure out what features were need to create this prototype app. The students mention that the problem with the current feedback at businesses at the time was there were a lot of inconvenience with competitor app and the disconnect between the managers, business and the employees. In the designs, the students wanted to features to be simplified so that students and teachers have an easier time accessing and navigating around the application. All of the features I wanted the features to be simple, direct, and understandable since human resources can be really complex especially in corporations and businesses.
When choosing colours I went with a monochromatic blue theme because in colour theory blue represents trustworthiness, reliability, and a sense of calm. These aspects are need especially when it comes to HR-related applications. Clouds were added as part of the background because the students wanted to feel that sense of calm and the clouds were also aesthetically pleasing.
The home page had the companies name and the increase and decrease of the company to represent the company's reputability. This design aspect was added after drawing out the sketches for the original prototype of the app.
